safely remove hardware

Running a new pc, Vista Home Premium 32 bit, had it for about 6 months. Two
350gig hard drives. All of a sudden I have an icon for "safely remove
hardware" in my sys tray, and my 2 hard drives are displayed. What? Why? And
how do I get rid of it? Since I was not planning on removing them

Re: safely remove hardware

Did you recently upgrade SATA drivers? Windows probably now thinks they're
removable - which they actually probably always have been (hot-swappable)
but you didn't know this because the new drivers provide the functionality
you were missing. You could probably roll the drivers back, or leave well
enough alone.
