Vista Priority

It seems to me that Vista is dedicated to security and updates. Everything is
secure and recent.
The problem is that Vista's priority is to be secure an up to date, as
opposed to what I need it to do.
This system is intended to be a tool and while self updating and automatic
security is great, it needs to be much lower priority for the developers and
the system. If I can't run everything I need at the speed I need it, there's
something wrong. Has anyone else observed this?

Re: Vista Priority

While I disagree with your assumptions it is pretty easy to turn off most of
the security and automatic updates if you think you need to.

Re: Vista Priority

I like Vista and have been running it for some time on a pretty decent
system; Intel e6600, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 8800GTS, WD RaptorX 10krpm HD but the
truth is vista just is not as responsive as XP I don't think it ever will be
either. I hope I am wrong but It's just way to "big" to be as responsive as
XP. Even after turning stuff off.
