| Guest | Vista problems Following on from when my system crashed and driver problems I just now need to know how to get rid of some of the old files which have automatically been stored in a folder called Windows.old and when I try to delete some of their contents it says that I don't have permission to do so. I did have another topic open on this but after going on holiday it was removed for some reason. Thanks for any help -- Dan |

| Guest | Re: Vista problems You need to take ownership of the folder (since it was 'owned' by your previous Windows installation). You can do it the long and tedious way: http://www.vista4beginners.com/Chang...take-ownership Or the quick and easy way: http://www.technobeta.com/posts/add-...-context-menu/ -- Maxwell Bluemeanie ---- "Daniel Hirons" <DanielHirons@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8396B95D-4D82-4B45-B561-3FE0950B5B91@microsoft.com... > Following on from when my system crashed and driver problems I just now > need > to know how to get rid of some of the old files which have automatically > been > stored in a folder called Windows.old and when I try to delete some of > their > contents it says that I don't have permission to do so. |
