| | Internet Explorer cannot display webpage Vista home premium on HP laptop (two weeks old). IE7 worked correctly until the computer did an auto update last night. Since then IE7 will not display any webpage. The diagnostic says that there is nothing wrong with the internet connection. Mail works normally. Is there a problem with any of the updates in the current batch? I do not see any other messages on the forums about it? Thanks for any reply. Andereida |

| | Re: Internet Explorer cannot display webpage Thanks, Rick, for your reply. Uninstalling KB937143 does indeed correct the problem. However the update insists on re-installing itself again on reboot. I also found that, unbeknown to me, Norton firewall had taken over duties from Windows firewall. Changing the settings back to the Vista firewall permits IE7 to access webpages correctly even with KB937143 installed. Exactly why I don't know but perhaps it makes sense to you. I'm typing this from a hotel room with only a narrowband dial-up connection. When I get back to base Norton is coming off this machine. Thank you for your time. | | Re: Internet Explorer cannot display webpage Hi, Thanks for the feedback. Funny how my follow up suggestion, had the initial one failed to resolve the issue, was to check for the presence of Norton software. I suspect there is a base incompatibility between it and that cumulative update. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org My thoughts http://rick-mvp.blogspot.com "Andereida" <bhk5835-ng1@yahoo.co.uk> wrote in message news:OMdOPt14HHA.4676@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... > Thanks, Rick, for your reply. > > Uninstalling KB937143 does indeed correct the problem.
