System Restore did not complete successfully.

System Restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files
and settings were not changed.

Details:

The shadow copy provider had an unexpected error while trying to process the
specified operation. (0x8004230F)

You might want to try System Restore again and choose a different restore
point. For more information, see System Restore: FAQ.

[Run System Restore] [Close]

I am running this on a new Vista Home Basic, on a two month old laptop. I've
tried literally every restore point available, and this issue always pops up.

Any insight, workarounds, or help on this? Thanks![/u]

If you have any Symantec/Norton software installed, see the following
website.

"Restoration Incomplete. Your computer cannot be restored . . . ":

Otherwise, go here:

not sure this will help, by restore wont complete if you have Norton
Product Protection enabled if you have a Norton AV program installed.
the solution? turn off product protection temporarily and do the restore.
