Windows Experience Index has disapeared !

Hi,

The windows performance index dialog is not accessible anymore.

I attach to this email a screen capture of the window. It's in french
but obviously it's not visible.

Re: Windows Experience Index has disapeared !

Close the Performance Index window and go to
C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore and delete it's contents and run the
Performance Index again.

Re: Windows Experience Index has disapeared !

If Control Panel > Performance Information and Tools is missing elements,
try this:

In the registry editor, navigate to the following two keys (both keys may
not be present, but you probably have one or the other):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Control
Panel \ Performance Control Panel

In the right-hand pane, delete the value named PerfcplEnabled (if found).

-And/Or-

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Control
Panel \ Performance Control Panel

In the right-hand pane, delete the value named PerfcplEnabled (if found).

These values may have been entered by a tweaking program, or by a group
policy setting.

Re: Windows Experience Index has disapeared !

This did not solve the problem, but the modification of registry in the
next post did it.

Thanks for your help

I've had this missing WEI button for awhile. No doubt from when I used a
Vista Tweaks program. Didn't bother me till I realized it was broken.
Wanted to use it last week for a ATI 3870 video card.

The 1st response had the deletion of the DataStore . While that removed my
old 5.6 WEI it was the later part of the 2nd post which did the trick.

Thanks to all,
