| | Midi files with soundbank.gm I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop. I notice that, unlike Windows XP, the Midi sound bank is in the Java Platform rather than in the Microsoft GM. The file is Soundbank.gm. I notice that in playing Midi files there tends to be pops and clicks, and sometimes what is called by some, "staggering," that is. unwanted very brief lapses of time between notes. I'm wondering if this is because the files have to go through the Java platform? Also, I'm wondering if there are some tasks in Task Manager that I could eliminate if I just want a SMOOTH rendering of the Midi files? Any suggestions as to how to smooth the playing out would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Bob. |
