power settings keep changing

Hello,

I recently discovered hybrid sleep and love it. However, i have a problem.
My computer would go to sleep, the power button would flash but nothing i did
would wake it up. So i'd have to turn it off and let it resume from
hibernation to get it back, which made hybrid sleep useless.

Someone offered me some help. They suggested going into device manager, and
under keyboard and mouse changing it so that these devices could not wake the
pc and then going into my USB root hubs and checking the option to allow
vista to shut down the device to save power.

After doing this, hyrbid sleep worked and everything in the pc would turn
off...my power usage dropped down to 10 watts.

however, the changes i made keep getting reset on the USB hubs. So i have to
keep going in there and re-checking the box. And when this happens, the pc
does not entirely shut off...either a fan or hd is still running, and my
power usage is at 50watts.

Any ideas why the power settings on the usb devices keeps resetting itself?

This is vista ultimate 64bit
