Hi,

Uninstall Quicktime and delete the program folder. Then go to Apple's
website and download and install the latest version of this software.

Re: Can't Run ChkDsk on C:

BTW:

A practice that I started long ago is to do a reboot after each, and every,
install/uninstall. This way I am certain that the changed registry is 100%
in memory and being used.

It sure has alleviated a load of problems that I used to see before I
adopted this practice.

Re: Can't Run ChkDsk on C:

You could try this.

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, found here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301

Run Windows Install Clean Up (a shortcut should be in the Start Menu >
Programs). Highlight all references to QuickTime (only!), and click on
Remove. Don't remove other entries for other programs (like Acrobat Reader,
for example), or they will stop working.

Reinstall QuickTime.

Re: Can't Run ChkDsk on C:

Do you have access to a Vista Install Disc? If so, try running chkdsk in
Command Prompt from there, by booting the disc. Here's how:
