    usb

    i have windows xp pro and suddenly my usb has stopped working. it also gives
    the message that the device cannot be detected and that it needs a driver. i
    tried other usbs but none of them work. i reformatted the hard drive and it
    still doesn't work. i urgently need HELP!

    Hi,

    If you formatted the drive and did a clean install of the operating system
    and the USB hubs still do not work, then you have a hardware failure. Either
    the component or the motherboard will need to be replaced.

    In Device Manager uninstall ALL the USB entries then reboot, XP should
    refind the USB hubs.
