| | Unresolved resolutions in KB938979 Two of the resolved issues have not been completely resolved. I have this patch installed but still experience the below problems related to these resolved issues. 1. "If User Account Control is disabled on the computer, you cannot install a network printer successfully. This problem occurs if the network printer is hosted by a Windows XP-based or a Windows Server 2003-based computer." I have discovered an issue where you cannot install a print driver successfully if you have User Account Control enabled but have the UAC policy "Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode" set to "Prompt for Credentials." The driver will install successfully if this policy is set to "Prompt for consent." 2. When you copy or move a large file, the "estimated time remaining" takes a long time to be calculated and displayed. I still experience this issue when attempting to copy or move files several hundred megabytes in size. |
