Crashing on shutdown (drive power state failure)

My computer crashes when I shut down, I have Vista Premium and I have not put
anything new on my computer here lately.
Thanks

Re: Crashing on shutdown (drive power state failure)

Hi Chris,

Please post back with more details including the specific error message (if
you can't read the screen, check the event viewer). Also details as to how
long this has been occuring, and any system changes that may have coincided
with it. Things like the installation of new hardware/software, or updates
to Windows, antivirus software, etc. all may be a cause.

Re: Crashing on shutdown (drive power state failure)

The blue screen really gives me no time to read the actual numaric error but
what I can catch is DRIVE POWER STATE FAILURE, its happened a few times
already. The only thing I added to my computer after the Vista upgrade was a
new graphics card (PNY Geforce 7300 GS) and that was a couple months ago,
I just recently deleted the driver and reinstalled it, and also there was a
update from nNIVIA that I downloaded, personally I don't think that this will
solve the problem.. seems to easy.. but I hope it does..
Thanks for your help
Chris
