| sony vaio trouble with vista Hope I can get this question on before this $3,000 computer crashes again from the vista issues. I keep getting blue screen and crashes with different problems listed. Does anyone know what these file paths could mean and how to fix it? I deleted the paths once and then they came back with different numbers in them. Please someone help. I've never had problems with any other windows with my crappy computers like this vista has caused. Here's the text I copied: Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini100507-02.dmp C:\Users\Jen\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-61745-0.sysdata.xml C:\Users\Jen\AppData\Local\Temp\WER4E6D.tmp.version.txt Read our privacy statement: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?link...3&clcid=0x0409 on 10/7/07 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini100707-01.dmp C:\Users\Jen\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-50575-0.sysdata.xml C:\Users\Jen\AppData\Local\Temp\WER1296.tmp.version.txt |

| Re: sony vaio trouble with vista The error codes on the blue screens are useful in determining problems. File paths to minidump files are less so. If you have had problems from day 1, you should return the computer to the vendor and complain or you could try doing a full system recovery using the media recovery solution provided by Sony. | Re: sony vaio trouble with vista Hi Jen 88, The paths are meaningless as a means of diagnosing the problem. That is simply where Vista is storing the error report and dump files. Please send this file to me at the email address used here, using a subject line of 'per req':

| Re: sony vaio trouble with vista After MONTHS with this problem and almost dumping my Vaio in the trash can I finally came up with a SOLUTION to the crash and misterious blue screen. First of all, I never had problems when conected to a wireless network, the crash happened always when conected to a Local Area Conection so I assumed that there had to be a relation between the local area conection and the crashes. How did I solve this? In Device Manager I disabled the Microsft 6to4 Adapter (which happened not to be properly installed so the computer became unstable and crashed because of it). THAT WAS IT. After MONTHS of crashes, I haven't had anymore of them. Hope this works for someone else. Let me know! |
