Fax notification (printer or email)

I apologize for the lack of exact error messages but i am not onsite.. has
anyone encounterred and resolved the problem of not being able to
automatically print or email faxes received in Vista? we received some
generic error message both in the fax program and in the event log stating
that the printer (local lpt printer) is not available and to make sure it is
online... We can print the faxes manually without a problem. i will post more
info when i go onsite to get the exact message. i have tried reinstallig the
windows component to no avail.
