Huge Print Delay

Hi all, Ive just bought a new vista machine and i'm trying to install a
lexmark x3480 which i ran on my old xp machine fine, When I tell the machine
to print the job sits on the print queue for 5 mins before starting to print
and then it takes 5 mins to print one page! I have just spent an hour and a
half on the phone to lexmark tech support re-installing the xp drivers and
changing the print processor settings but to no avail. They said they would
call on Monday with a solution, but I've been having a read on the internet
and seems it's a common problem. When I uninstalled the old drivers I deleted
the lexmark 3400 program and checked this removed the printer from the system
and I also deleted everything from the
C:/windows/system32/spool/drivers/w32x86/3 which started with 'lx'. Is there
anywhere else the old driver could be hiding, or has anyone solved this
problem??......any help much appreciated as it's driving me nuts! Thanks!
