Vista SP1 and HP Deskjet and OfficeJet duplex head to toe issues

For those people who already have the fix that I sent you please note you
need to save the file. I suppose most of the people who did get the GPD
file for their printer will only see this after installing SP1. Hopefully
HP Support will have a deployable solution by the time SP1 is widely
released.

Thanks for pointing this out Jerry

Yes, It is the case you mentioned. The GPD in SP1 beta must have newer time
stamp and we could not fix this in Vista SP1 due to it is not reaching the
bar. Thanks.

I assume the faulty GPD file in SP1 has a new date and replaces the good
one.

Alan,

I just wanted to let you know that the HP duplex printing bug rears its ugly
head again when you install the latest SP1 beta for Vista. This is the first
SP1 beta that I had access to through MSDN so I don't know if it was present
in earlier beta's. You'd think by now HP and/or Microsoft would have
straightened this out.

Also for some reason, the software needed to send feedback on the beta will
not install on my computer this morning so I cannot send an official report
to Microsoft about this. Is there some way you can pass this information on?
Thanks.

Jerry

Will doing a 'TOUCH' on the file keep it from apparantly being replaced?

RE: Vista SP1 and HP Deskjet and OfficeJet duplex head to toe issues

Hello Alan. My problem is ongoing and seems to be common: I have a 32 bit
Vista Ultimate os and my hp deskjet F380 will work as long as I do not stop
the printer in midprint, or run out of paper, (another stop in midprint). For
some reason I worked out that I could go to HP and download the software from
their website, but first have to click on internet tools, then clear temp
files. Next, I download the F380 software onto my hard drive. I'm good to go
again, until the printer is stopped/ not stopped as in finished printing, but
just stopped mid print.
Before I did all the downloading from the website, I tried using uploading
the software I got with the printer, but that no longer works. My drivers
always show up as current when I do the online HP assessment. Do you know if
HP has a current disc? I bought my printer in the fall of this year.
Thanks for your ear.
