| Vista 32bit | Deleted Fax from Printers. Help!!! I had some problems with printing to the Vista Ultimate (32 bit) Fax, so I deleted the fax icon from the printer menu in the control panel. I cannot add it now. I get this error message: " The printer corresponding to the selected acct. is not existing. Fax printer is required to render the fax content. Click yes to add the printer now...." I click yes and it gives me this message: "could not add the fax printer. An error has occurred." This all started after I the OS wouldn't start, and I booted from the disk and did a system fix. |

| Vista 32bit | Re: Deleted Fax from Printers. Help!!! The only option it gave me was to rollback to early this morning... which is when it happened. I do have a drive image back up too, but just a little hesitant to roll back because of data loss on the work comp. I am hoping for an easy fix, haha right... we are talking vista here... even an easy fix goes through a 55 step verification and authorization process. Thanks Deo!!! |

Hi, well i tried something i removed the fax option from the printer option in control panel was not able to put the icon back. then i went to programs and feature and on left hand side option turn off or on the windows feature and unchecked the fax option there once the uninstallation was complete it asked for restart that i did not do and then checked the fax option in turn off or on windows feature once it was done restarted the computer the option was back there. ~Deo "MagnumHandy" wrote: Quote: > > The only option it gave me was to rollback to early this morning... > which is when it happened. | Vista 32bit | Re: Deleted Fax from Printers. Help!!! Apparently, I had some deeper (registry) issues bc I could not even access my windows features... along with some other quirks... maybe I picked up a virus, which is weird bc I monitor and scan every morning... anyways, after failing at trying to use the install disc to "fix", I ended up using the install disc to re-upgrade, which allowed me keep my files, at the same time fix my internal problems... worst case scenario, now that I have had to wrestle with vista on many of occasions, I have really really learned the value of managing back-ups, and I now can revert to a working system in a matter of minutes. Nevertheless, thanks deo!! |
