Vista - Lexmark X2470 and Vista

i cannot for the life of me get this printer/all-in-one machine to work on my
new laptop. i have downloaded the correct vista drivers from lexmark, but it
simply does not work. i cannot print or scan or copy, although the "imaging
centre" is there. i get an error telling me that the fax application doesn't
exist. can anyone help me?

Did you install the driver package from Lexmark BEFORE you connected the AIO
to the PC?

thanks for the quick response.

i did not connect the USB until prompted to do so by the installer software.
however, as soon as i do this, the windows automatic driver installer tried
to install at the same time. do you think this is causing a conflict? there
is no cancel button on this installer software, so i was unable to disable
it. however, it did fail every time i tried to install the driver. i have now
tried both versions of the vista driver from the lexmark site. :/
