Belkin F5U002 alternatives

Well after a bit of research I've found that my Belkin F5U002 USB Parallel Printer Adapter cable is, from what I can tell, not compatible with vista.

So my questions are

1. Is this absolutely true that it is incompatible?
2. Is there anything I can do to make it compatible?
3. If not, can anyone suggest a comparable item that is compatible?

Mine works great to the HP 4L.

What device are you attempting to use.

Does Device Manager show that USB Printing support is installed and
available?

Re: Belkin F5U002 alternatives

I've been trying to use it with an old canon bjc-80. I've tried it on 2 different vista computers. One of them is an hp laptop and I can get everything to install correctly but when I send a job to the printer it takes it about 6-7 min before it starts printing. Then on my other which is a asus laptop, it says something about it can't install USB printing support or something like that. I'd look and tell you exactly what it says but I'm not near it right now. So I mean I don't know at this point what to think.
