| | Word 2003/Vista Combo Spooler Slow 4 Network Printer - -Wierd solu Running Vista with Word 2003 on a Network Printer.... Printing any Word document is ridiculously slow. Basically, the print job just hangs indefinitely. However, printing .pdf documents, documents off the web, etc. is normal. When Word docs hang, print status just shows "spooling." One time, just to see how long this might take, I waited 47 minutes to print a 2 page Word 2003 letter!!!! And it never printed by the time I cancelled the print job. I just discovered a wierd solution. When I single click the close document X button at the top right of the document loaded in Word 2003, the document ALWAYS prints immediately. This works without fail with any document loaded in Word 2003, no matter how long that document has been hung up spooling. But the single click does not close the document. The document stays open in Word until it is double clicked to close. Does anybody have any idea why there is need to single click the close document button to get it to print?? This never happened using XP with Word 2003. |
