| | Print Management - Migrate printer on a cluster resource Hello, When I use the Print Management snap-in and try to run the "Migrate printer..." tool, I choose to export a list of printers, then enter the name of the virtual server (it's a resource on a 2000 cluster) where all the printers and spools are installed. I get the message "Windows could not connect to the registry on \\<virtualservername>. Please enable the remote registry service on the server." If I enter the physical node server name the virt runs on, it connects but the printers aren't installed there. The remote registry service is running on the physical node. Is this a known issue? |

| | Re: Print Management - Migrate printer on a cluster resource Yes. Vista RTM cannot backup printer items on a cluster. Vista SP1 incorporates the cluster api changes that allow this to work. I've never confirmed on a Server 2000 cluster, only Server 2003. -- Alan Morris Windows Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base here: http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1 This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
