What do you mean by "download"? Is the X1240 supported under Vista?

Re: windows interface not working

How does one 'download' a printer?

Do you mean you are trying to download the driver package from the Lexmark
website... or that you are trying to install drivers from a CD? If the
latter, are you 100% sure they are Vista drivers and not XP drivers?

Has the printer ever worked correctly in Vista?

Re: windows interface not working

my disc to lexmark will not work on vista windows(to old) and so I have to download the driver from lexmark's support page and when I do my windows interface stops working. I don't know if it is their download that is doing it or my computer.
Thank you for you interest.

Re: windows interface not working

Uninstall and reinstall the printer.

Although written for XP, the directions are exactly the same for Vista.
Check with the printer manufacturer's website and ensure you get the latest
driver package.
