Sure, how much are you willing to pay for it?

FAX not available in Vista Home Basic Premium. It is available in Ultimate,
Extreme and Business.

You might consider Snappy Fax at a slight cost:
http://www.snappysoftware.com/

or the Free version from BVRP:
http://www.usr.com/bvrp/bvrp.asp

or a full BVRP Classic Phone Tools 9: $29.90
http://www.shop.avanquest.com/usa/pr...S_CPT_homepage

I’ve used all of these. Snappy fax screen look a bit crude but the product
actually is fairly feature rich and works fine. BVRP also works fine,
screen looks a little better. Other than that, there are minor differences
in performance between the two.

RE: Fax

I too miss having the faxing option in Vista Home Premium. I read somewhere
that it was to be included in the SP1 upgrade, but I have installed SP! and
no faxing ability. I think this was a big oversight on the part of Microsoft.

Re: Fax

Sad to say the fax program is not included in Vista Home Premium or with SP1. Only the business version or Ultimate has the fax program.

Re: Fax

I downloaded Snappysoftware.com. and it held hostage a program I needed.
I had to uninstall it, then restart, then find where it really did not
uninstall and REALLY had to uninstall it then restart it, before it would let
me open my excel document again.
I was on pins and needles as the document was work related. At this time I
would not recommend snappysoftware.

I wish they would just put in the fax, I have already written them.

What about this fax software?
http://www.rkssoftware.com/mightyfax/overview.html
it looks good. Has anyone tried it?

Re: Fax

This is all true. Why didnt Microsoft tell us about this in the first place?
I was on the phone with Dell almost an hour. They tried to get my Vista Home
version to send faxes. Nothing worked. The modem works fine. If Microsoft
wants to remove features in Vista Home Preimum that XP had they could at
least tell us about it. Tell Dell about it too. Their tecks - at least a few
- didnt know about this.

Re: Fax

From what I hear, it seems MOST people didnt know Microsoft removed the fax
feture in Windows Vista Home Basic Preimum that was available in Windows XP.
And there is nothing in the help section that tells you about it.

Re: Fax

I agree. Microsoft should not take functionality away with what should be a
new and better operating system package.
