Envelopes won't print

I'm running Microsoft Word 2007. When I go into Mailings/Envelopes and add a
recipient's address (I usually change Fonts from the Default), then hit
Print, nothing happens at the printer. The image on my monitor goes from the
Envelope set-up screen to a blank Microsoft Word document screen. I've got an
envelope snuggly tucked into the printer slot. Tried this multiple times
without success. I wonder if I'm the only person who's thought about pitching
Vista and going back to XP Pro.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm using Word 2003 and have used previous version also.

The way I print envelopes is to highlight the name and address in the Word
document, say a letter, and then go through the printing routine (for me
Tools>Letters and Mailings>Envelopes & Labels>) and enter a return address
if required. This works in Vista and previously I have used XP, 98 and 95.

I tried your way (with a blank Word doc) and it didn't work for me either.

Perhaps there is another way, but you may wish to try what I have suggested.

HTH

Re: Envelopes won't print

Like Bill, I also have Word 2003, and I usually open a document containing
addresses, highlight, and print.

BUT....
I just opened Word to a blank document, went to Tools - Letters and
Mailings - Envelopes & Labels..

I first tried selecting a contact from my Contact list, added it to the
Delivery Address, and it printed fine.

Then I tried typing in a name & address, and that also printed fine.

Both times took a little longer than I expected, but they printed ok.

Hey Dave, you are correct - I found the envelope from the blank document in
the print queue eventually. Really slow getting there, Whether this is
because of Vista I don't know, but my "normal" method works just the same as
in XP and previous versions. I've been using Vista for over 12 months now.
