| Guest | Fix IE7's printing problems I can no longer print from IE7 after installing the latest Microsft updates -- printing from other applications is unaffected. After some research I discovered there are 1000's of users with the same problem. I can print from IE 7 if I turn Protected Mode off, as suggested by a community member. Why can't Microsoft deliver less buggy software? This poor testing and buggy software cost me an hour of my time. I'm beginning to think I should move off the Microsoft Vista platform and go back to IE 6. -- Bill ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. I have posted some hints on these pages. The one that works the best for me is : By right clicking on your IE7 startup icon and selecting {Properties, Shortcut} and then the advanced tab then check on the Run as Administrator box you will be able to print from IE. If you are running as a user this box will not allow you to check it. If that is the case use windows explorer to go to c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe. Right click on the iexplore file and select Send to desktop as shortcut. You will then be able to check the box on this icon to allow you to run as administrator. You will need to put your admin password in each time you open IE7 but at least you can print until the guilty party comes up with a solution. |
