| Vista x64 Business | Vista Fax will not Send the Originally "Printed" Document Hi, Using the built-in Vista x64 Fax and fax printer. When I go to fax something, I pick the Fax Printer - goes through its gyrations - opens the Fax and Send control panel, shows the attachment to be sent, which is the original item I had open and "printed", but only the Cover Sheet gets sent in the end, or the Cover Sheet and a blank page???? Anyone else seeing this? Tried removing the Fax Printer from the Printers Console - DID remove, and then when I went I opened the Fax and Send Console, and tried to send a fax it prompted me that I did not have the Fax Printer installed and it re-installed it, but no help from that. When I go to Programs & Features and open "Windows Features", I de-select/un-select Fax & Scan - it starts the process to Remove them, gets about 3/4 through the process, if the slider bar is really representative of anything(?), and then says IT CANNOT COMPLETE THE OPERATION?? Not all Features were updated. Cannot find anything on the MS site regarding this? Have been waiting for months, hoping SP1 might fix this? Any suggestions? Hate to pay MS to fix their own program with a service call - Very annoying - at this point, I don't have a fax....and have not for several months. Last edited by SCA; 03-18-2008 at 11:37 AM.. |

| | Re: Vista Fax will not Send the Originally "Printed" Document Not reported with 32 bit. True for all attachments? What file type? Which originating program handles the rendering? -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "SCA" <SCA.36h5g1@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net> wrote in message news:SCA.36h5g1@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net... | Vista x64 Business | Re: Vista Fax will not Send the Originally "Printed" Document Hmmm, well it WAS true for all items coming from all programs,....but it's working now. I installed the Snappyfax based on someone's recommendation on this site, and for whatever reason, the built-in MS Fax and Scan seems to be working again now after months of not working? Maybe the install of the SnappyFax uses some of the same DLL's or other files and kicked it loose? Not sure why, but it's working now - thanks anyway. |

| | Re: Vista Fax will not Send the Originally "Printed" Document Odd indeed. Most of the time installing another fax program that is TAPI based hoses WFS for good. It has never fixed it that I've seen. I doubt there are any common DLL's. More likely that some security or permissions issue got resolved. WFS is notoriously sensitive to those. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "SCA" <SCA.36ir37@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net> wrote in message news:SCA.36ir37@xxxxxx-mx.forums.net... | Vista x64 Business | Re: Vista Fax will not Send the Originally "Printed" Document Yes, it was very weird - the console would open, and it would fax whatever was entered as to the Cover Page, etc., but even though the original document was showing in the Attachment window/filed, it would not send the original document after the cover page - ?? So I do't know, but it works now, after installing the Snappyfax software. |

| | Re: Vista Fax will not Send the Originally "Printed" Document Hmm, Okay - I've isolated it to an issue between Adobe 8 and MS Fax. - Other programs DO fax properly - just not Adobe Acrobate - ? Please let me know if you know of any fix for this- SCA "SCA" wrote: Quote: > > Yes, it was very weird - the console would open, and it would fax > whatever was entered as to the Cover Page, etc., but even though the > original document was showing in the Attachment window/filed, it would > not send the original document after the cover page - ?? > > So I do't know, but it works now, after installing the Snappyfax > software. > > > -- > SCA > |
