| | Scanner Wizard NEEDED I'm not talking about the setup wizard, I'm talking about the user-friendly, all encompassing Fax and Scanner Wizard that was in XP. A user could preview a scan, designate dpi, select a file name and a folder location, and generally get a lot done. Why is this not a feature in VISTA???????? I have a great scanner with photo capability and document reader functions; it does include some basic scan options, but was programmed to work best from the Start, Control Panel, Scanners, Scanning Wizard. One of the reasons I upgraded a computer was to have more storage for photos and faster processing time for editing. I guess I have lots of storage space and no way to do my job a get my photos scanned. I feel like I made a $1100 mistake. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. | | Re: Scanner Wizard NEEDED You might consider Snappy Fax at a slight cost: http://www.snappysoftware.com/ or the Free version from BVRP: http://www.usr.com/bvrp/bvrp.asp or a full BVRP Classic Phone Tools 9: $29.90 http://www.shop.avanquest.com/usa/pr...S_CPT_homepage I’ve used all of these. Snappy fax screen look a bit crude but the product actually is fairly feature rich and works fine. BVRP also works fine, screen looks a little better. Other than that, there are minor differences in performance between the two. -- Regards, BobF. | | Re: Scanner Wizard NEEDED it is possible that you have the wrong version of vista to be able to fax. check the microsoft vista web pages for the version that has fax built in. it may be necessary to upgrade. other wise the functions you are asking for should be in the scanning programs from the printer/scanner manufacturer. mine are. mikeyhsd@xxxxxx "J" <J@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1B8F493D-2090-417B-BD7B-9EB31B3FBCDB@xxxxxx I'm not talking about the setup wizard, I'm talking about the user-friendly, all encompassing Fax and Scanner Wizard that was in XP.
