Vista - Vista faxes not included in Vista Backup

After a recent restore from my Vista Backup files, I found that I had lost
all my faxes in my Vista Fax and Scan folders. On investigation, I found
that Vista Backup does not save faxes from the default fax folder. I
therefore tried to move the default fax folder to somewhere that is included
in the backup - ie my documents folder. But then I found that Fax crashes
every time I try to select a cover page.

Is there a way to get faxes included in Backup but also have the software
operating properly?
