| | Printing from QuickBooks and Quicken 2008 in Vista 64 bit I have a brandnew installation of Vista Business 64 bit. Installed all 64 bit printer drives and printing works fine from Office and printing test pages. Quickbooks 2008 and Quicken 2008 have intermittend problems. (95% of the time not working) After starting a print job from within these applications these jobs simply get 'lost'. Nothing in the printer queue, print jobs seem to just drop from the surface of the earth. Somtimes QuickBooks can print, I have not isolated what turns it on or off. QuickBooks support is not existend. Does anybody have any advise? Greatly appreciated. |

| | RE: Printing from QuickBooks and Quicken 2008 in Vista 64 bit Hey there.. any luck figuring this out? I am unable to print in Quicken H&B 2008 with an HP Printer.. all other apps print fine. Another printer worked with Quicken. UGH> "sharky" wrote: Quote: > I have a brandnew installation of Vista Business 64 bit. | Vista 32bit home premium | Re: Printing from QuickBooks and Quicken 2008 in Vista 64 bit Hi Sharky, I dont know if this will help at all, but we've just launched a free tool to create PDF invoices from Quickbooks. Its called billFLO and it enables the user to create, manage and send their invoices by email. The PDFs are also archived on your PC You might be able to use this as a work around, at least for you invoices, by creating PDF's of the invoice through billFLO and then printing a paper copy through Adobe PDF? I hope this helps. You can get billflo here: www.getbillflo.com Many thanks Ian Sweeney |

| VISTA x64 | Re: Printing from QuickBooks and Quicken 2008 in Vista 64 bit We develop software and we are convinced that this is not an Intuit problem, but a bug in VISTA 64. In particular a Windows API DocumentProperties function call to get size of DEVMODE record for printer properties. See, On Vista x64, DocumentProperties fails from UAC-elevated process - MSDN Forums It does not affect all VISTA 64 users or all applications. Since it affects some Intuit users it appears to point to Intuit. You need to report this to Microsoft. Loudly. The problem does not 'reproduce' on all computers, but when it occurs on a computer it is repeatable for all printers installed. |

| Vista Ultimate x64 | Re: Printing from QuickBooks and Quicken 2008 in Vista 64 bit Somewhere in the past, someone at Intuit told me that they are using the PDF 3.0 engine to generate their print images. This not supported in Vista x64 and I believe it is the root of the problem. |
