I need some help setting up a bluetooth printer. It seems like it should be
an easy problem to solve, but for some reason its just not working. I have windows vista. a bluetooth adapter not made by my computer manufacturer but is supposed to be compatible with my printer AND vista. I have a dell laptop with built in bluetooth capability. The printer is an Epson Photo Stylus RX595 What happens: I plug in the usb bluetooth adapter to my printer which seems to be reading it fine. Theres an IP address that shows up, so my printer does recognize the device. Then I use "add a bluetooth device" wizard. It detects the printer and correctly categorizes it. Now this is where the problem is. It starts installing the driver. Everything goes ok until it searches for the "unknown printer" driver software and fails. I have updated to driver from the Epson website for vista. The program that came with my Epson is Arcsoft and I have patched it. I dont know if this program is relevant. Its just an additional software that came with my printer. Everything seems to be vista compatible. It will work fine with a usb cable. My computer just cant seem to find the "unknown printer driver" even if i point it to the folder and also do a scan on the C drive. In device manager, It shows up as an "unknown device/unknown printer" When it is connected via usb printer cable, the device manager reads it as a storage device, this is probably irrelevant. I contacted Epson and this is how it is supposed to show up. Basically, I've tried everything I can think of. Any suggestions? Help! |
