I don't always use new cartridges and the ink monitor thinks I am out of
ink, when re-filled cartridges are in and full. There is some way of
turning off the ink monitor but I can't locate the instruction. Anyone
else?
Thank you

Use only Canon approved ink cartridges and not refills.
Refills are more trouble than they are worth since they
cannot be properly calibrated.
