I have recently purchased a new HP laptop with Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I am having a weird problem. When I go to print properties in Word, it freezes; thus, I can't access double sided or draft quality printing etc.

My printer is an HP Office Jet K5400dn. I have downloaded their most current driver, which says it is for 64-bit vista (OJproK 5x00 full 8.0). The problem seems specific to Word, as I can use print properties in other programs such as acrobat (although there I get 2 printer icons come up while it is printing) or MS outlook. I thought it was something to do with my office 2003 so I broke down and bought office 2007 that says it is 64-bit compatible, but the problem hasn't resolved.

I have searched support sites for Windows, Office and HP printers but can not find anything. I do a lot of document writing, and really need to be able to print off draft versions. Can anyone help?

After trying to close the program last night, it appears that it may have been trying to open up 2 print properties windows. I should also add that I have used microsoft update to fully update both Office and Vista.
