| | Re: connecting to a network printer Something (usually a router) has to assign a TCP/IP address to the printer. I have no idea whether your modem can do such a thing. If it can, you simply install the ip4000 as a network printer. If it's got no TCP/IP address, then you're very stuck. I cannot magically make a modem perform DHCP if it's not in its firmware. -- Cari (MS-MVP) Printing & Imaging www.coribright.com/windows "mark luyt" <markluyt@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:83D202B5-3EBF-41F8-82E5-D2155D43DDD4@xxxxxx Quote: > the modem is acting as my router, the PC goes into the modem, the switch > is > wired into the modem and the switch picks up the everthing in the house > i.e > the printer > > "Cari (MS-MVP)" wrote: > Quote: >> Through a modem????
