Vista - error 1075 printer spooler is not running

hi all

i am here to say this is my fault

but as usual i f*** up

i uninstalled my printer and all its' drivers

rebooted

and proceed to delete file folders and anything that was associated with my hp

office jet j5750

as well as going to regedit and deleting the files there

NOW my printer spooler is not running at all

when i go ti re install the printer

it states printer spooler not running or ERROR 1075: the dependency service does

not exist or has been marked for deletion

this is also happens when i go into

services.msc.

any help here would be great

This is a solution from Technet have not tried it but ypu're welcome to have a go

DON'T FORGET to backup thr registry branch before you do anything


Click on Vista (Start) button, and type Regedit.exe in search bar
Navigate to the following branch
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ Spooler
In the right-pane, double-click the DependOnService value
Delete the existing data, and then type RPCSS
Close Regedit.exe
Restart the computer.



This should resolve the issue.

when i went there it

had RPCSS http

i deleted http

then rebooted

i will let you know

I have tried everything to get the spooler running again.
I have made sure the RPC and spooler services were both running. I have
restarted and removed http from the DependOnService value.
I can see my printer now along with the other default ones.
But I can't add or remove printers. error message is: operation can't
be complete, spooler is not running. I can get the spooler running for
about 5 seconds but that's about it.
Any ideas beside the ones below...?

I have a new Gateway FX Vista/64.
printer is an HP LaserJet 1018.

An help would be greatly appreciated.

in an elevated command window, do you still get the 1075 error when starting
the spooler?

net start spooler
