HP 2575 Persistently refuses to print

Hi

My HP 2575 keeps stopping partway through a print job. Often with "Error
processing command" on the bottom line of the print queue window. It is hard
to clear the job and the machine usually just refuses to print anything
else. The HP print diagnostic utility, or turning off the printer for 30
seconds, or rebooting the computer sometimes fixes things but by no means
always. Whether or not things print has become a lottery.

I am running the HP 2575 under 32 bit Vista, latest drivers and patches. I
have downloaded the drivers again, reinstalled them several times and even
reinstalled Vista, the problem persists.

Any ideas anyone?

Did you include Step 4? If not, all you ended up doing was reinstalling the
corrupted drivers. (although the article was written for XP, the procedure
is exactly the same as Vista)

Re: HP 2575 Persistently refuses to print

No I didn't include step 4, because I never knew it was required. However I
did remove the printer from Hardware manager at least once and clicked the
remove drivers box. Also when I reinstalled Vista I formatted the disk
before doing so. I'll give it a try though.

Thanks

Re: HP 2575 Persistently refuses to print

Just tried further re-installation of printer as per your instructions,
including a fresh download of the drivers. Same problems persist.

look for system event 6161. If there is one include the win32 error code.
