How to get to Windows Fax and Scan

KB article 930087 says to 1. Click Start button, click All Programs,
and then click Windows Fax and Scan. To get to Windows Fax and Scan.
The list of OSs that it applies to includes Windows Vista Home Premium
64-bit Edition which is what I run. But I can't find Windows Fax and
Scan on the start menu. I was happy for a while because in all the
help I could find on my system it didn't say how to get to Windows Fax
and Scan.
Thanks,
Chas

Re: How to get to Windows Fax and Scan

KB article is wrong. WFS is not included with Vista Home Premium. It is only
included with Business and Ultimate.

Re: How to get to Windows Fax and Scan

I've given some feedback on that KB article as it is wrong. Meanwhile
you'll have to install some other fax software to enable it in other version
of Vista.
Some people have recommended Snappy Fax or you can buy a fax machine pretty
cheaply.

Re: How to get to Windows Fax and Scan

For those with Vista Home or Basic, there are a number of alternatives:

Snappy Fax
http://www.snappysoftware.com/
RKSFax
http://www.rkssoftware.com/rksfax/overview.html
VentaFax
http://www.ventafax.com/
FaxTalk FaxCenter Pro 7.5

I've seen reports that the free version of BVRP works with Vista also:

http://www.usr.com/bvrp/bvrp.asp
BVRP PhoneTools

Since the above comes bundled with new USR modems, I don't know if it will
work with non-USR modems. You can also send Faxes via your Internet
connection provided you are willing to pay for an Internet E-Faxing service:

FAQ: How can I send a fax from the Internet?
