| | Sleep function removed USB printer from Printers folder I have a usb Lexmark x4270 all-in-one on a Windows Vista Ultimate system. After putting the computer into sleep mode and later starting it back up, the printer no longer appears in the Printers folder, or in the Print window in most applications (in fact, none of them appear, not even OneNote). However, I just printed from a pdf document within Internet Explorer, and I was able to access the printer from the pdf add-in's print function. However, I was unable to confirm any preference changes by clicking OK in that instance, I could only press Cancel or Help buttons. I tried searching in Microsoft's knowledge base and attempted to install a cumulative usb update that seemed like it would fix this issue, but upon starting the installation I got an error saying the update did not apply to the current machine. |
