Adding a networked printer on Vista x86 box

I manage our network print server which has about 300 or so printers.
I have noticed that for a few of them, when trying to connect to them
(\\servername\device name), I get an "Operation Cannot Be Completed"
error. I can add them with a local IP port and they work fine, but
not for the queue from the server. This does not affect every
printer, just a few random ones, over a few manufacturer models (HP,
Canon, Dell). Does anyone out there have an idea about this?

Is there a Vista compatible driver installed on the print server? If you
are using Server 2003 inbox drivers these will work.

Is the same driver version in use when you attempt to add the connection as
the one installed when adding the IP local printer.
