| | Can't configure tcp/ip printer port-Error loading the Tcp Mib Libr I installed Vista RC1 and a network printer via print server. When Vista installed it saved all of my applications/docs to a folder called windows.old. I subsequently had to reinstall all of my software applications to run under Windows Vista. Since I've reinstalled everything I realized my IP address keeps changing on my printer and takes my installed printer offline. I corrected the IP address to be static, but now I can't change my printer configuration in VISTA to correct the Printer Port to be the static IP of the printer, I receive an message, "Error loading the Tcp Mib Library". I've searched for this error code all over the place and can't find it anywhere... anyone see this before? |

| | RE: Can't configure tcp/ip printer port-Error loading the Tcp Mib Okay... I finally found the solution... I did another search in MSN Live and located related to Windows XP and Windows 2000... If anyone else has this problem, the solution is in the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article: 261302... CAUSE This behavior may occur if a third-party version of the Wsnmp32.dll, Ntprint.dll, Tcpmib.dll, Mgmtapi.dll, or Snmpapi.dll file has been copied to the %SystemRoot% folder. RESOLUTION To resolve this behavior, rename or delete these files in the %SystemRoot% folder. These files are taking precedence over the Microsoft-supplied file in the %SystemRoot%\System32 folder. I found the Snmpapi.dll under the root folder, renamed it (for safety reasons) and it worked like a dream.... didn't even have to reboot. I was able to configure my port, correct the IP address and now my printer works again... Hope this helps anyone else who has this problem.. Have a wonderful day ... I know I will!
