Vista - Windows Cannot Connect the printer

Windows cannot connect the printer
The specified printmonitor is unknown

This is message I geting every time I try to install network printer
Printer is HP DeskJet 9800 and running on WinXP Pro SP2 on USB port

I use Windows Vista Ultimate RC2

this is what I did.
#1) control panel>printer>add a printer> local>use existing port>pich your
Deskjet 9800 driver in HP-it's there.
#2) install
#3) once it's installed, right clic it>properties>ports>add port
#4) add port>name it
#5) i used this format \\computer\printer
where the computer is the name of the remote that has the printer
attached;and printer is the name of the printer in the XP pc.
Both XP and Vista need printer sharing on-but you prolly now that.
Works great.
