Deploying printers with GPO

Hi,

I'm trying to deploy printers on a machine bases using GPOs. When I try to
added a printer using the \\server\name path, I always get the message
'Addition failed'

When I browse for printers I only see those that are NOT shared on the print
server - and even adding them generates an error of 'The printer name is
invalid'

Am I doing something fundamentally wrong here?

Re: Deploying printers with GPO

Is the spooler running on both machines?

What OS is the machine sharing the printers running?

Since you are using you have a domain setup I assume the user account is on
the DC.

When you see the non shared printers, is this on the remote machine or after
opening the remote printers folder?

What registry share entries exist under the server service?
HKLM\System\CurrentControlServer\Services\LanmanServer\Shares
