Vista - print spooler not on error message

There seem to be many posts concerning this message. I had this error and
was able to determine that the cause was an attempt to download a network
printer driver that was not Vista ready. After two phone calls to Toshiba
tech support and (60 minutes later) it was determined that the only fix was
to do a clean install of the system software. They knew of no way to
reintstall the print spool software, which was apparenlty corrupted. This
did not allow me to use the network driver, but did allow me to print to
local printers with updated drivers. Moral of the story... don't attempt to
load a non Vista print driver.
