Driver HP Scanjet 4570/5500C

Hi forum,

I am using a HP Scanjet 4570/5500C but is so no related drivers for Vista.
Is there a workaround via TWAIN?

Regards
Huib

RE: Driver HP Scanjet 4570/5500C

I was using a HP Scanjet 4670 wich worked fine on XP. New computer came with
Vista, and apparently there are no other options on new purchase. I have
been tearing my hair out for three days. Called HP and they advised that the
new drivers will be available "soon". Until then, I either have to wait or
replace all of my legacy equipment due to the change in OS and the
incompability issues.

New computer is great for surfing the net & playing videos and that's about
it until new drivers are available for print director, printer, scanner, etc.

I am very frustrated that updated drivers were not available at the time of
Vista's release and more frustrated that consumers do not have choices on OS
in new computers.

Re: Driver HP Scanjet 4570/5500C

Hi,
Indeed, meanwhile i got also the confirmation from HP that the related
driver will be available next month.
For me it ok because as i can use my Scanner till that time on my ME - PC .
Small but important issues as i have to keep my ME so far.

Huib

Do a search on TWAIN here and you should find a myriad messages from me
about this.

In brief -- download the Deskscan 2.9 software from the HP website and
install it using Run as Administrator and at the end run the Scanner
Test ......

It worked for me under W2K, XP and now under VISTA.
