Vista - Scanning in Vista

Got WinVista 64Bit.
Got a Canon scanner.
Scanner is recignized in WinVista Device Manger,
but not in Vistas Fax & Scan, and not in VueScan.
The scanner only works in Canon's own program, CanoScan.
Canon support says, it's not their problem. They delivered
a scanner, program and driver that works together.
So, it looks that Canon-owners is stuck with Canon's scanner-program.

I went to driveragent.com and discovered drivers for another brand of scanner that wasn't working. Now...it works. Give it a try!

Searched the database for "Canon" and Vista 64Bit.... No match.
I won't install any ActiveX object from a site that i don't know. Thats
why I did it manually.

Kim, do you also have the Canoscan toolbox for ms vista installed?

Yes. Have tried without the toolbox. The toolbox is the
only program that recognize the scanner although it appears
in the device manager.
