Re-installing Fax support

I recently had an issue with DELLs All-in-one printer setup and in
troubleshooting the problem, uninstalled the microsoft fax stuff. Now I
can't figure out how to get it back. can anyone help?
Upgraded to vista premium from windows media center 2005 on a Dell Inspiron
E1705.

Re: Re-installing Fax support

Please post a more complete and coherent question. You have posted a maze of
operating systems and fax services no one could possibly decipher. Nicely
done.

Re: Re-installing Fax support

There is no fax program included with Vista Home Premium.

Re: Re-installing Fax support

Thanks Dan,
I guess I screwed the pooch when I uninstalled. Shame that MS doesn't
include it. I've been reading some other posts and found that they are
including it in the Business and Ultimate versions. I guess they don't
realize that those folks probably have fax machines in their offices while
home users usually don't, and need the support more. I appreciate yor
response.

Re: Re-installing Fax support

If you have MS Word, it can fax... (I have Office Word 2003)
File - Send to - Recipient using a Fax Modem

Re: Re-installing Fax support

Get with the program. This is USENET. Post no information and you get
nothing back. We are not mind readers.
Apparently you failed to notice that Vista Home has no Fax Service.

Re: Re-installing Fax support

Comon Russ...chill dude. It wasn't that big of a deal for you to get spun up
over. A simple correction or request for more information was all that was
needed and I would have provided it. no need for rudeness.
I didn't fail to notice, It just doesn't seem logical. I purchased this new
Dell Laptop with Windows XP Media Center and it had fax support. I don't use
it that often, but it came in handy when I refinanced my house recently.
When Dells upgrade program sent my Vista Premium software, I upgraded and all
was ok until I had the problem with the AIO printer. Anyway I have a VL MSDN
Subscription laying around here somewhere, I'll figure things out. In the
mean time...go to church tomorrow, A day with our Savior will make you feel
better.

Re: Re-installing Fax support

Control Panel, Programs & Features.... turn Windows features on or off....
Have your DVD to hand, as it will probably need it.

And believe me, if you've spent as much time as Russ and me and Hal in this
group, questions with not enough info get us totally frustrated. We spend a
good half (or more) of our time trying to find out enough details in order
to answer the original question.

You still haven't told us which Lexmark All in One you have, so I cannot
tell you if drivers are available or not.... (either check the Dell website
or the Lexmark one... Dell do not manufacture printers, they get them from
Lexmark and rebadge them.)
