| | peculiar printing experience in vista My printer, a Lexmark 730, works fine when invoked by Excell or Word but when trying to print a picture, Photo Gallery seems to take over and invokes the xps document writer. If at that point I try to change to the Lexmark 730 printer the system acts as if that printer did not exist. Can somebody please make sense out of that for me. Karl |

| | RE: peculiar printing experience in vista Let me add to my own message that the problem seems to be with Windows Photo Gallery because I can use Arcsoft Photo Impressions, browse to the file, and print it via the Lexmark 730 printer. | | RE: peculiar printing experience in vista Windows and the Gallery remember the last printer you used. Open Gallery select Print on the menu and change the selection to the correct printer. Make sure your printer is selected as the default in Printers. | | Re: peculiar printing experience in vista Thank you Birk for the tip. I tried FastStone and it is a good alternative to printing pictures in Vista but it does not answer the question why Vista doesn't do it right all by itself. I also thank Mary for her reply but my Vista does not work that way. I don't even get a chance to select my printer because it does not come up as a choice when I try to select it, even though when working in Office 2007 and all other applications my printer works. This might help someone to zero in on the problem. Karl "Birk Binnard" wrote: > Try FastStone viewer instead. www.faststone.org. > -- > Birk Binnard > http://www.birkbinnard.com > |
