Lexmark Network Printer Offline

Similar to questions asked before but more specific.

I'm running a Lexmard Optra T610n through a Linksys wired router.
2 nights ago when trying to print tax returns, all shut down. The
printer can be found but shows as offline. I've just spent the better
part of 5-plus hours dumping all the Lexmark software from my
Windows 2000 machine and dumping the printer icons et al and
then reinstalling everything. On the other machine-also connected
through the router-the Lexmark software will find the printer but
the message coming back when anything is sent to it is that the
"Printer is not ready". On this Vista RC1 machine the printer status
is shown with a green check mark but is shown as offline.

I could suspect the NIC in the printer but there's nothing telling me
that I have a hardware problem. So, as totally usual, I've got a
bad problem and nothing that will help diagnose a fix!

I've looked at a couple of the other posts and have reviewed the
port issues et al with no success.

Would anyone have other suggestions?

Thanks!
