    HP 7310 total frustration

First, with the new drivers posted within the past two weeks, duplex printing
prints the pages flipped wrong. Found a thread through advice on this forum
with a fix where a guy from Microsoft says HP has fix in the works, but he
will email the fix if I email him directly. No response.

So I try to print using manual duplexing, and no matter the setting it
prints with auto duplexing with pages flipped wrong.

So I figure just uninstall the duplexer. Do that using "run as admin",
reboot, and it still prints only with auto duplexing pages flipped wrong.
Properties says duplexer is installed, although I just uninstalled it.

So I try again, this time physically removing the duplexer thinking maybe it
wants to detect that the duplexer has been physcially removed. Same result:
says duplexer is still installed even though I just uninstalled it.

Sorry for the frustration, but can any one tell me how to get the duplexer
uninstalled from this piece of junk so I can at least print on both sides
    manually?

HP tech support via email is totally worthless--they don't even know about
the duplex problem and that a fix is apparently in the works. Their helpful
input: get out of the car and get back in (uninstall software, etc. etc.)

I have sent the fix to everyone who has mailed me. Don't use the online
part of the alias. So far I have send this fix to over 40 people. One guys
is going to wait for the updated release from HP since the new drivers
released at HP.com also have the same problem but this has help everyone
    else.

HP upper management knows of the issue but I don't know how far down the
chain of command the answers go.

    I am at microsoft.com

    RE: HP 7310 total frustration

Got the duplexer uninstalled--had to turn the printer off, then reboot, then
    back on.

So now I am happy because I can manually duplex with my auto-duplexing
printer. Another example of improving quality by lowering standards.

Thanks for such a speedy reply, Alan, that's really helpful. I did use the
online part of the alias and that must be my problem. Will email you again.
