| | Re: HP Laserjet 3052 is missing The IEEE 1284.4 device is a USB drive--I'd guess this is where the MFP puts scans for you to recover. I would assume you want at least 3 nodes for this MFP, the scanner, the drive where scanns are dropped to & the printer. You could try using the "Scan for hardware changes" and failing that, "Add legacy hardware" wizards from the device manager to try to give PnP another chance to detect it. I don't have one of these devices, so I can't really test it directly, but the HP site does imply Vista support...
