Vista - Re: IE7 manage add ons

So, have you tried uninstalling the printer driver?
Actually, my guess would be that there could be some ancillary software
installed too which you could remove but leave the driver as is.

If backing out or disabling any of the changes you made avoids your
problem symptoms try looking for support from Canon, etc.

Thank you Robert. I now have a suspicion that it is the Adobe ancillary that
comes with the printer installation which is the culprit. I'll follow your
avise.

Hi Robert
Thanks for your suggestion.
Before I do this, is it possible to re-install Internet Explorer v 7 on a
Vista platform by downloading it?
The error seems to be caused by an IE version 6 module which somehow got
itself installed without my knowledge.

Just adding on to what I posted a few minutes ago: The curious thing is that
I can run IE7 if I run it as an administrator when I right-click it in the
Start panel and use that option.

I don't think so. I think RIES is the only repair available to Vista users,
specifically for IE. Otherwise since it is part of the OS, in the same way
that IE6 was integrated in XP, presumably you could also use sfc /scannow
and it would do whatever it does in terms of repairing IE.
